Membership Agreements
The Manifest Community Arts Center will provide the following logistical and project management support for all Manifest members in good standing:
All members will be responsible for providing the following to the Manifest Community Arts Center, and to one another:
Termination Of Membership:
Any member may be written up and receive a letter of complaint from the executive responsible for public safety, for disrespecting general member's responsibilities, or specific house rules. After three written complaints, membership may be suspected or terminated upon discussion at the discretion of the Manifest executive.
Mediation:
Any controversy, conflict or claim arising out of or relating to this Agreement, or the breach hereof, shall be settled by consensus problem solving whenever possible. Should any disagreement be deemed unsolvable by either party a third party conflict resolution service will be contracted to resolve the dispute with any expenses shared equally by the members.

Special provisions, if any, are:
- One vote per member at monthly member meeting, regardless of type of membership, or executive position.
- The right to be heard at monthly members meetings.
- The opportunity to be nominated and elected into the Board of Directors.
- Transparency in governance, members will be kept informed at all times.
- Space to produce and sell goods and services.
- $5 Discount to member events
- Tools and workshop arena for creative expression.
- Studio Arts Space at monthly membership rate according to size.
- Safe Space and anti-oppressive training to all members.
- Access to Mediation for escalated disagreements between members.
- Progressive, innovative environment
- Hygienic Standards for Food and WC
- Social networking in an dynamic and accepting community
- Framework is subject to change as we evolve
All members will be responsible for providing the following to the Manifest Community Arts Center, and to one another:
- Membership fee (rate depending on class of membership)
- Volunteer hours
- Input in the running of the community center
- Artist networking
- Members provide artists workshops/classes to other members or guests (based on personal schedule).
- Keeping waste to a minimum
- Individual responsibility to leave no trace
- Respect oneself, respect others.
- Zero tolerance for oppressive language (racism, sexism, homophobia, uttering threats, harrasment, etc...)
- Zero tolerance for oppressive behavior (bullying, intimidation, assault, etc...)
- Zero tolerance for public drug use, drunkeness, or and trafficking
- Responsibility to be aware of societal privilege, to try not to take advantage of privilege to dominate personal interactions and situations (IE: if you are a white male, check yourself and let others speak.)
- General effort to maintain a respectful, safe and healthy environment.
- Co-operate with membership management to produce a healthy co-operative.

The classes of membership are:
- Basic Supporting Member ** Currently the only class of membership for 2013
- Volunteer Based Member
- Time Share Member
- Full time renting member
The membership fee is:
- Basic Supporting Membership is $100 annually
- Volunteer Based Membership is $30 minimum annually
- Time Share Membership is between $50-$250 monthly
- Full Time renting membership is between $500-$1000 monthly
The terms and conditions attaching to each class of membership are:
- Basic Supporting Members: Members of this class supports the cooperative monetarily annually without renting space.
- Volunteer Based Members: Members of this class supports the cooperative part monetarily and with volunteer work without renting space.
- Time Share Members: Rent space part time on a monthly basis.
- Full Time Renting Member: Rent space for full time access on a monthly basis.
Special provisions, if any, are:
- The co-operative shall carry on business without the purpose of gain for its members.
- The cooperative shall use any profit or other accretions for the purposes of promoting its objects.
- The directors – shall serve without remuneration, and shall not receive, directly or indirectly, any profit from their positions as directors, but may be paid reasonable expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
- Upon dissolution and after the payment of all debt and liabilities, the co-operative’s remaining property shall be distributed or disposed of to charitable organizations carrying on their activities solely within Canada.
